These pieces were made in response to the work of Mark Daniels, (Boney Island).

After creating a crow brooch to wear to the private view of his exhibition at Blackshed, the project expanded into an ambitious flame-painted collar composed of forty-eight individually sawn copper crows.

Alongside this, the original brooch was framed and presented against a background of hand-foraged earth pigments refined during a workshop with Polly Bennett.

Rather than copying another artist's work, the project became an exploration of translation—moving between ceramics, metal, landscape and drawing while allowing one material language to respond to another.

Both works were first exhibited alongside Mark Daniels' exhibition at Twelve Hundred Postcards, and have since been shown in further exhibitions including the Pure Arts Spring Show and the Net Hut Residency in Hastings.
