Part creature, part character, part sculpture he has taken on a life of his own - appearing at exhibitions, events and unexpected places, and finding an audience well beyond the studio
From research to making
Hekus grew from an exploration of language, archaeology, folklore and the changing relationship between humans and horses. The work developed through drawing, construction, textiles and found materials, bringing fragments of deep history together with contemporary folklore.
